TOURS, TRANSFERS AND SLIGHT KNOCKS!

Four pieces of news today came out of Bristol City on the eve of their first pre-season match.

Tomorrow Bristol City will play Forest Green Rovers at the New Lawn in the opener to a month of friendlies as City prepare for next season, however Gary Johnson has revealed four players will not be taking part due to slight knocks.

Marvin Elliott, Gavin Williams, Stephen Henderson and Adriano Basso will all be sidelined for the match in Gloucestershire on Saturday allowing Chris Weale a full 90 minutes in between the posts for the Robins. However Bristol City fans will be delighted to hear that Steve Brooker may make an appearance tomorrow after Johnson revealed that his pre-season is going well.

On the transfer side it's Steve Brooker who is attracting interest once again, with Cheltenham having a loan bid rejected as they look to replace Steven Gillespie. Johnson revealed that CTFC weren't alone in making enquiries "There's a lot of interest in Steve Brooker as we loaned him out last year, but we did that to get his match fitness back, so he could return to us".

Richard Keogh is on his way after Johnson revealed it's now down to him to find a club and then City can negotiate how much compensation we are entitled to.

.... and Finally! Bristol City have swapped both of their opponents in the Portugal Tour. They have chosen to now open the tour versus Sporting Clube Olhanense, a second division club who are regarded as the best team in the region, and more surprisingly Rushden & Diamonds of the Blue Square Premier. Times and Dates remain the same respectively.
